At Falls Baking Company our bread is made fresh every day without preservatives.  To help preserve that freshness, we recommend the following techniques:

  1. Store your bread only after it has cooled.

  2. Freeze your bread after 2-3 days. Our bread freezes well for up to 3 months.  Double bag in freezer.

  3. To refresh your bread after freezing, defrost slowly and warm in a 350 degree oven for about 5  minutes.

  4. Microwave ovens are not recommended - they tend to cause bread to harden and dry out.  Refrigeration will also dehydrate the bread and accelerate staling.

The bread at Falls Baking Company is made in the old world tradition with no preservatives or additives.

All of our breads are made from scratch with artisan bread flour. The dough is made with a pre-fermented starter to enhance the flavor of the bread. We carefully hand craft our breads and bake them in a stone hearth oven. Slow mixing and baking at high temperatures produces a very unique loaf of bread; crispy and crusty with a soft moist interior.
